Arpitex has been promoting relevant consecutive investments for the modernization of its technological capacity and sustainability of the production processes of its manufacturing unit, being noteworthy the investments made from 2015 onwards, in the full and integrated automation of its modeling area, as well as in energy efficiency, with strong reduction of the underlying CO2 emissions.
With support from IAPMEI, through the Incentive System for Business Innovation (Project No. 14723 – see Innovation Project Sheet) we have promoted the introduction of technologically advanced equipment, with particular relevance to the automatic cutting machine GERBER PARAGON VX22; Accunest MC post for automatic markers and Accumark PDS post for pattern making, which allowed us to gain productivity, efficiency and reliability of pattern making and cutting, necessary and critical to the production with quality of articles in more sensitive and/or technical meshes. We also replaced 100% of the lighting in the unit with LEAD lighting, with energy savings (efficiency) of around 70%, strongly improving our commitment to responsibility and sustainability.
In 2022 we will continue with even more relevant investments in these areas, also with support from IAPMEI, through PT2020 (Project NORTE-02-0853-FEDER-180644 – see Productive Innovation Project Sheet), and the conclusion of this project is near. A new automated cutting equipment, complementary to the existing one, for continuous production of samples and small series, with high precision and great capacity to eliminate waste of MP, besides allowing much more control of defects, critical factors to the production for the luxury segment, is fully realized and in activity. The photovoltaic electric energy production system is also active, with 50 Kw of power, which at the end of the first month presents a production record that provided a self-consumption of 50% of the electric energy consumed, already considering the replacement of the previous fuel boiler by a new electric one, thus being extremely significant in the reduction of carbonic emissions throughout the production process. Even so, it is our intention to make new investments in this area, with a view to achieving carbon neutrality – zero environmental impact – in the unit’s production process.
